Turning on all 2018 Polaris General 1000 EPS Premium models is the 999cc twin cylinder, twin cylinder, fuel-injected four-stroke Pro Star that has helped make the RZR line so successful. The engine features dual overhead cams, has four valves per cylinder, and in this track, which is good for 100 horsepower and torque of 65 ft lb. Since General 1000 EPS Premium is designed to compete in the sports / utility market, the engine is optimized for torque. The standard Engine Braking System (EBS) uses natural compression of the engine to help control the slowdown without the need to hit the brakes.
Transmission also comes from the RZR line. The lower gear ratio makes its way into the Polaris General 1000 EPS Premium tranny, which provides better solutions for low-speed applications such as towing, hauling and work. General is equipped with a high performance Polaris all-wheel-drive system. When engaged and slippage is detected, power is directed to the front wheels for extra attraction. As soon as the rear wheel pulls back the traction, the system automatically comes off.
We watched for a long time in the taxi, it was clear that Polaris had made good plans for everyday use whether riding on footpaths, hauling teeth into campsites or with an average leg 999 cc 100hp Pro Star twin inline fuel injected machine to max. From control driveline switch to tilt steering everything becomes second nature and feels natural every time we sit inside. While the tilt steering is really good, some steering wheels can fit into the measuring line of sight. Polaris General 1000 EPS Premium has improved the slope and pod size together so this tends to be a problem. Passengers are also well thought out and the center console grip succeeds in making these riders feel secure when their confidence in the driver is cut off a bit.

One of our favorite parts of the 2019 Polaris General 1000 EPS Premium Date is the suspension and handling. Borrowed from the Polaris RZR S line, you get a dual-A-arm suspension in front with 12.25 inch wheels and 13.2 inch travel wheels through a dual-A-arm suspension at the rear. No trailing porsional arm means less broken parts! The Polaris General 1000 EPS Premium has an 81-inch wheelbase, which is only 2 inches longer than the RZR S 1000. The front and rear suspension on the General 1000 EPS Premium models comes with the Fox 2.0 Podium X shocks that have a stabilization bar on the front to help with cornering. Like the RZR S 1000, they have a stabilization bar on the rear and suspension adjustability clickers in all four corners. We ran our rear shock at the softest point to ride smoothly on rough terrain. Another big plus is that General sports ground clearance 12 inches to clean fallen timber or large rocks.
Other items that make Polaris General similar to 2018 Polaris RZR are suspension and shocks. FOX shocks not only provide pillows and soft fluids that are comfortable to be beaten by passengers but also tailored for light tweaks. We found ourselves playing with only a few settings but we almost always returned to factory settings on the most used terrain. Outside the shell box is installed very good for entry to middle level riders, the owner. I do not think we will ever replace them at all as they did as expected even as some quick flashes of unexpected water slipped into the path. Ground clearance is always a concern as most of the larger rocks and stumps tend to reach the bottom of the machine. The general has 12 inches of ground clearance which is very useful and we have utilized every inch occasionally and also were surprised that we did some big rocks that slipped in our direction.
As you slip behind the wheel you will see the tilt’s rudder and the gauge all one. This is so that the meter is visible from the angle. The driver’s seat will also slide forward or backward for the size of the driver. This makes the trip more suitable for any size driver. The seats at Polaris General are similar to the RZR seats but the bottom of the seat is thicker and they are also mounted higher in the cabin for easy entry and exit of the machine during those working days. The full day’s riding in this large, high-back chair is very comfortable and you also feel quite safe while in a camber situation. Another feature of the Polaris General 1000 EPS Premium is the high door. This door has a traditional hook that works very easily and covers most of the occupants so that the dirt left behind the cabin.
